first monday of 2012

So far my new year has gotten off to a great start! Spent the afternoon with my family on the 1st eating the traditional new years meal (black-eyed peas for wealth and cabbage for good luck). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this year it actually works for me! I jotted down a few "new year's resolution's" yesterday, but mostly they are things that I need to do or want to do this year.

-take my vitamins
-try the 30 for 30 challenge
-save lots of moolah for a new car/house
-visit my best friend Todd in Cali!
and finally
-focus on me this year and what truly makes my heart happy! :)

Another year and of course lots of new dreams!!!

2011: a look back

2011 has definitely been a roller coaster! There have been so many ups and downs, but there has been one major positive this year that I am so very proud of and thankful for....finally graduating from college with my bachelor's degree. This has taken me so very long but all of my hard work finally payed off and I couldn't be more excited! I have been so dedicated to school and work for the past 9 years that I feel so lost not having to attend classes every night of the week and work three jobs just to get by. Receiving that piece of paper was the best feeling in the world!
Along with my new piece of paper came a new job that I am very excited about! I started at the District Attorney's Office for Bowie County in November. It was a very unexpected turn for me but definitely a positive change and I'm so happy about my decision!

I had a blast this year from surprise birthday parties, baby showers, canoe trips, concerts and even a mini vacation to VA. I made lots of memories with some of the best friends and family a girl could ask for and I'm so truly blessed and thankful.

There were lots of memories made in 2011. Some I want to remember forever and some I wish never happened but nontheless it was a very good year and I can't wait to see what's in store for 2012.

I have been wanting to go canoeing for the past three summers and I finally got to go with some of the most amazing people ever. We had the best time and I can't wait to go again!!

Girls Nite Out

I had my first get together/girls nite out at my new house this past weekend and we had the best time!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

It's been a long time since I've been able to post. So many things have been going on and changing in my life. The biggest change is I have recently moved! I have lived next door to my parents since I graduated high school and finally I have moved to town. Downtown actually. I LOVE it! I will say that I do not like moving at all especially when you have 9 years of stuff to go through and pack. I feel like I have moved into a mansion though because my little tree house was so tiny and had no storage at all. Now I have 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room and even a sunroom!! It has been so much fun decorating and getting settled.

I finished up my spring semester of school in May but then started summer classes 2 weeks later! Good news is, I only have 3 more weeks and I can start my summer! I'll be glad I took them when it's all said and done.

John and I got to make a quick trip to Little Rock to see his sister graduate from high school. We had a very good time and I got to meet his other side of the family for the very first time so it was fun!

And we're off....

School started this week! I'm taking 3 classes this semester. A little overwhelming but I'm excited to get 3 more classes out of the way. Three steps closer to graduating =) I'm determined to make this semester as stress free as possible....which means no procrastinating!! I have already decided that Friday nights are going to be my designated study nights! And I'm sticking to it!

It's definitely going to be a busy year for me. Two of my friends are getting married....one in March and one in October. Super excited and happy for them!! I'm in the process of planning the first lingerie/bachelorette party...any suggestions??

March Wedding - Luke & April

Isn't that the cutest picture of them?!?! =) April has been my best friend since 7th grade! We are two peas in a pod! I really don't know what I would do without her! I'm so glad she found Luke, they are perfect for each other. He's a great guy!!

Beautiful Couple!! I've known Mal Gal since we were tiny babies. Our moms have been best friends since high school. She is my sister and I love her very much!! So excited about their wedding in Austin....it's going to be beautiful!!!
